ATI started Mobility Radeon HD 3870 X2 sales 1 September 2008. This is a TeraScale 2 architecture notebook card based on 55 nm manufacturing process and primarily aimed at gamers. 2x 0.5 GB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 1.7 GHz are supplied, and together with 2x 256 Bit memory interface this creates a bandwidth of 2x 54.4 GB/s.
Compatibility-wise, this is card attached via PCIe 2.0 x16 interface. Its power consumption is at 110 Watt.
It provides poor gaming and benchmark performance at 12.21 percent of a leader's which is NVIDIA Quadro P6000.
