Intel started Xeon Platinum 8380 sales 6 April 2021. This is an Ice Lake-SP architecture desktop processor primarily aimed at professional systems. It has 40 cores and 80 threads, and is based on 10 nm manufacturing technology, with a maximum frequency of 3400 MHz and a locked multiplier.

Compatibility-wise, this is FCLGA4189 processor with a TDP of 270 Watt and a maximum temperature of 83 °C. It supports DDR4-3200 memory.

It provides good benchmark performance at 49.44% of a leader's which is AMD EPYC 9654.
