Intel started Intel Xeon Gold 5117 sales 11 July 2017. This is Skylake (server) architecture desktop processor primarily aimed at office systems. It has 14 cores and 28 threads, and is based on 14 nm manufacturing technology, with a maximum frequency of 2000 MHz and a locked multiplier.
Compatibility-wise, this is Socket P processor with a TDP of 105 Watt. It supports DDR4-2400 memory.
It provides poor benchmark performance at 21.40 percent of a leader's which is AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X.
